· Advocates for the inclusion of people with intellectual or developmental disabilities
What they do:
· The Arc works in collaboration with other agencies and organizations to facilitate the development of a wide array of options available to individuals and their families
Services offered:
· Advocacy – FREE!
o The Arc helps parents of children with disabilities receive services in schools
- Educates parents on special education services to aid in the decision making process
- Educates parents on the rules, laws, and eligibility requirements for a child in special education
- Disability Education and Training Services
- courses offered in Spanish and English
- courses offered in Spanish and English
- The Arc offers an extensive referral network of information and assistance to families seeking services for their child while also providing information on intellectual disability and other developmental disabilities
- The Arc represents people with cognitive, intellectual and developmental disabilities at the national, state and local legislative level
- Social, Leisure, and Respite Programs
- Must be a member to access these programs (see website for membership information)
- Fall Campout
- Two day camp-out for kids ages 12 & up
- Saturday Fun Day
- Day respite program for kids ages 4 - 25
- Staff take kids bowling, to the Aquarium, to restaurants, and other fun events
